Liverpool are one of several clubs keeping tabs on Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, according to reports.
The Cameroon international has been in excellent form this season, having scored 13 Premier League goals.
Some have touted him as a potential replacement for Mo Salah and, with increasing speculation that the Egyptian could move to Saudi Arabia at the end of the season, fans on X have been debating whether Mbeumo would be a suitable successor:

No one can replace Mo Salah !!

Best option out there in my eyes. Do need 10-15 more G/A from our no.9 to even try to cover Mo’s output with Mbuemo and Chiesa as RW options

Mbeumo does fit the profile
The fact that the Brentford star is 25 years of age and left-footed makes him a good fit to replace Salah.
Mbeumo has certainly caught the eye this campaign, with manager Thomas Frank having described him as “unplayable” after the win against Newcastle last month.
Unsurprisingly, his form has attracted the attention of other clubs, with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle having also been credited with an interest in the player.
Liverpool need an elite finisher
One aspect of Mbeumo’s game that does raise doubts is his scoring record. Admittedly, he has had a good season but his average during his time in England is a goal every 3.5 matches.
You would expect that will improve if he moves to Anfield but, will he be able to match Salah in terms of output? The Reds may have to look elsewhere if they want to recruit a top-drawer goalscorer.
