Liverpool and Chelsea are among the clubs who are “following” Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said that scouts from the two teams have been sent to watch the England Under 21 international in action with bids for the player expected this summer:
“My understanding is they [Dortmund] feel that in 2025 it’s going to be difficult to keep Jamie Bynoe-Gittens because the interest is more than strong. Premier League clubs are really following Bynoe-Gittens closely.
“Keep an eye on many clubs. For example, scouts from Liverpool, scouts from Chelsea and more clubs have been in attendance.”
Liverpool supporters on X are split on whether signing Gittens would be a good idea:
Yes please

Good news if he can be a potential signing for us before Dortmund will slam another outrageous price on him

Gittens could cost a lot of money
When reports about interest in the 20-year-old first emerged late last year, it was suggested that Dortmund were keen to sell Gittens for a fee in a region of €100m (£83m).
Based on his performances this season (9 goals and 5 assists in 23 appearances), that seems to be way too much.
Liverpool are not short of options on the left flank
As some fans have pointed out, Gittens is a right-footed winger who prefers to play on the left-hand side of a front three.
Head coach Arne Slot already has Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, Federico Chiesa and even Diogo Jota who can be deployed there if required so it would be a surprise if the Dortmund forward is a top target for the Reds.
