Liverpool have entered the race for Chelsea transfer target winger Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.
Karim Adeyemi has attracted a lot of interest from Premier League clubs including Chelsea and now Arne Slot’s Liverpool. He has also attracted interest from Juventus and AC Milan according to GiveMeSport.
The German winger was left out of the national team’s Euro 2024 squad and is available to leave Dortmund for a fee of around £25 million which is what the German giants are asking for.
The 22 year-old can play on either the left or right wing and also as a striker. He made 21 appearances in the league last season, scoring three goals and recording one assist.
Adeyemi has been linked to Chelsea who have been touted as the main frontrunners for Adeyemi’s signature. But as Liverpool have entered the race, they could swoop in and steal Adeyemi from the Blues.
How would Adeyemi fit into Arne Slot’s Liverpool squad?
Liverpool aren’t short of attackers with the likes of Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Mo Salah and Luis Diaz. However, Arne Slot has previously shown interest in Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon and so is clearly keen on adding more firepower on the wing.
If Adeyemi was to go to Anfield, he would have to impress the Liverpool boss if he was to get enough time in the starting XI over the other options at the disposal of Arne Slot.
Liverpool’s other transfer targets at the winger position
The Reds seem to have missed out on Anthony Gordon, but they have also shown interest in West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus who has an £85 million release clause.
Arne Slot is also reportedly monitoring Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Spanish star Nico Williams.
