‘What Nonsense!’ ‘Not For £50M’ Fans Dismiss Reports Linking Liverpool With Former Chelsea Forward

AC Milan winger Christian Pulicic is “very much liked by Liverpool”, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website claims that the Reds have joined Manchester United and West Ham in plotting a move for the ex-Chelsea player, who is believed to be valued in excess of €60m (£50m).

It is fair to say that supporters on X are very sceptical about the report with many doubting that Pulisic is a target for the Reds:

Pulisic has revived his career in Italy

Since Chelsea sold the American international to Milan for €20m (£17m) last year, he has managed to rebuild his reputation.

Having suffered with injuries and dips in form during his four seasons at Chelsea, Pulisic has been more consistent with the Rossoneri, scoring 22 goals and providing 16 assists in 65 appearances.

Liverpool are not short of wingers

While Pulisic has definitely caught the eye, it is hard to see why Arne Slot’s side would prioritise a move for the 26-year-old. There are currently four wide players in the first-team squad (including Federico Chiesa).

He has played most of his football for Milan on the right wing so he could, arguably, be seen as someone who could succeed Mo Salah if the Egyptian leaves. However, he is predominantly right-footed so he wouldn’t exactly be a like-for-like replacement.

There are other parallels between the pair, though. Both spent time in Chelsea before finding more success in Italy. Whether Pulisic will follow Salah to Anfield too, though, we shall have to wait and see.
