REPORT: Liverpool Eye Shock £33M Swoop For Chelsea Flop As They Consider Salah Replacements

Liverpool are weighing up a move for ex-Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic if Mohamed Salah leaves Anfield next summer, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Italian website claims the AC Milan player is one of two options that the Reds are considering, along with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

However, a move for the Brazilian could prove to be unrealistic, with his club demanding an extremely high transfer fee, leaving Pulisic as the main alternative.

Since leaving Chelsea last year, the American international has impressed in Italy, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists in 56 appearances.

Pulisic has been in particularly good form this campaign, having already hit the back of the net 4 times in his first 6 games, including one against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Milan’s asking price for Pulisic is not particularly high

The Rossoneri paid around €20m to bring the player to the San Siro in the summer of 2023, which is a fee many at the club believe was a bargain.

If they do make Pulisic available in a future transfer window, Calciomercato report that Milan will demand “more than double”. Even for €40m (£33m) or €50m (£42m), though, it is not a figure that would scare off Liverpool if their interest in the forward is genuine.

What is the situation with Salah and Liverpool?

There have been reports in recent days that the Egyptian has agreed a record-breaking contract with a club in Saudi Arabia but it must be emphasised that no respected source has confirmed those rumours.

If Salah does leave Anfield and Pulisic is targeted, many fans would be left disappointed. The American had form and fitness issues during his time at Chelsea and it is hard to see how he could replace a player who has racked up so many goals and assists for the Reds over the years.
