Liverpool have “decided not to make a move” for Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville, according to The Mirror.
The Reds were involved in a race with Chelsea to sign the Dutchman, who is said to be available for £30m this summer following Leeds’ failure to gain promotion back to the top flight.
However, it appears Arne Slot’s side will not maintain their pursuit of Summerville, and the majority of supporters on X are happy with that decision:
Thank goodness.

I would hope so too. He is Brentford, he is Bournemouth, he is Wolves. If we had an elite LW and were looking for a back up, he might be worth the gamble. But we need a RW, if Diaz leaves we need a RW and a starting LW. He ticks zero boxes based on our needs.

Why were Liverpool interested in Summerville?
The 22-year-old caught the eye with his performances for Leeds in the Championship, being named the league’s player of the season, having racked up 19 goals and 9 assists.
With Summerville being a right-footed left winger, though, there were always doubts about whether the Merseysiders really needed a player of his profile, considering how many options the club have on that side of the pitch.
Who could the Reds pursue instead?
A fair number of wingers have been linked with moves to Anfield over the past few weeks, including the likes of Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko, Mainz’s Brajan Gruda, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo.
It seems as if plenty of targets are being scouted but it remains to be seen who will end up as the club’s number one option.
