Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard thinks West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville would be a good signing for his former club.
Speaking about potential replacements for Mo Salah, Gerrard said that the Dutchman would be a better option than his Hammers teammate Jarrod Bowen:
“I like Summerville. He is brilliant in one-v-ones; he looks hungry. In a team that has struggled, he has been a shining light and gotten better as the season has gone on. I really like Bowen and think he is a top player, but I am not sure he is Salah’s level to replace him.”
Summerville has been in excellent form recently, having scored 7 goals in his last 11 appearances for West Ham.

The winger’s injury record would concern Liverpool
Since moving from Leeds at the start of last season, Summerville has spent a considerable amount of time on the treatment table.
The 24-year-old is currently unavailable due to a calf problem, which has kept him out of action since early March. He also missed the second half of last season with a serious hamstring injury that ultimately required surgery.
Summerville is not one of the top targets
While Gerrard seems to be backing a move for a current Premier League player, reports suggest that the Reds’ sporting director, Richard Hughes, has identified three stars currently plying their trade outside of England.
Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise, RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola are the names under consideration. Another player who was also linked, Juventus’s Francisco Conceicao, has played down the chances of making the switch to Anfield.
Summerville doesn’t appear to be an option for the Merseyside club at the moment, despite Gerrard being a fan.
