Liverpool are one of four Premier League clubs who have been scouting Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville, according to the Daily Mail.

The English tabloid claim that the Reds have “watched” the Dutchman this season, along with Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

Leeds are under pressure to sell players, especially if they fail to seal promotion back to the top flight through the Championship playoffs.

They drew 0-0 in their semi-final first leg against Norwich City on Sunday, and they play the second fixture at Elland Road this evening (Thursday 16th May).

If they lose, the Daily Mail report that the Whites will have to raise £100m through player sales, with Summerville one of the likeliest to be sacrificed.

Summerville has had a fantastic season in the Championship

The 22-year-old has been one of the standout performers in England’s second tier this campaign, having scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists in 47 appearances.

It is no surprise that Summerville was recently handed the Championship Player of the Season award.

Liverpool are unlikely to be put off by the winger’s price tag

It is believed that Leeds are prepared to sell Summerville if they receive a fee in the region of £30m, which is a reasonable price for someone of his age and potential.

You do, however, have to question whether the forward should be a priority target for the Reds. He is a left-winger who is predominantly right-footed.

The Merseysiders have plenty of similar players in their squad already, including the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo.

There have been rumours about Diaz’s future recently, with both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona having been linked with the player.

If the Colombian international were to leave Anfield, a move for Summerville would make a lot more sense. For now, it appears Liverpool are keeping a watching brief on the Dutchman.
