Liverpool ‘Tracking’ Midfielder Who Has Been Compared To Moises Caicedo And Eduardo Camavinga

Liverpool have been scouting FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Daniel Svensson, according to FootballTransfers reporter Robin Bairner.

The journalist says that the 22-year-old’s ability to play a number of positions has attracted the Reds’ interest, and they have been “tracking” his progress closely.

Svensson is a holding midfielder by trade, and there are said to be similarities in his game to Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga.

It must be said that, although he is practically the same age as those two players, he has a lot less experience playing at the highest level.

Svensson has played most of his football in Denmark

The Swedish youth international came through the youth ranks of Brommapojkarna before he made the move to Nordsjaelland in the summer of 2020.

Since then, Svensson has made 139 appearances for the Danish side, scoring 8 goals and providing 18 assists. Outside of league and domestic cup competitions, he has played 6 times in the Conference League, but he has never had the opportunity to test himself in the Champions League.

His ability to play as an inverted fullback would have caught Liverpool’s attention

While the majority of his time has been spent in central midfield, a good number of Svensson’s appearances for Nordsjaelland have seen him deployed at left-back, left-wingback and even right-back.

The fact that he is comfortable on the ball and capable of cutting into central positions means he is well-versed in the inverted fullback role.

If manager Arne Slot wants someone he can use as a utility player and who would fit in well with his system, Svensson does possess all the attributes needed.

Of course, there are question marks whether the Swede is capable of performing to the required standard in the Premier League as well as European competitions.
