Rumoured Liverpool transfer target David Raum says he will decide his future after the World Cup.
The RB Leipzig captain will be at the tournament with Germany, but there is speculation that he could leave his current club, having reached the final twelve months of his contract.
Both the Reds and Manchester United have been mentioned as potential destinations for Raum, but the left-back says his current “priority” is playing for his country:
“The club is in contact with my agent. But my focus was on qualifying for the Champions League, and is now on the World Cup, for which I am preparing as well as possible.”
“For me, it is currently a priority to play a great tournament. After that, we will still have enough time to sit down together and talk things through.”
Liverpool may not even sign a left-back
Rumours about Raum first surfaced before head coach Arne Slot spoke out about Andrew Robertson’s replacement earlier this month.
Robertson will leave when his contract expires on June 30th, and Milos Kerkez will need more competition for his place on the left-hand side of defence.
However, Slot suggested that Kostas Tsimikas could well fill the role as backup to Kerkez when he returns from his loan spell at Roma.

Raum is one of 3 Leipzig players linked with a switch to Anfield
While a move for the Bundesliga club’s talisman may not happen, Reds sporting director Richard Hughes is believed to have identified two of his teammates as other targets.
The interest in winger Yan Diomande is well-documented, but it has also been suggested that the Merseysiders are keen on Antonio Nusa.
