Liverpool are keeping tabs on Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, according to reports.
The Spanish Under 21 international has impressed with his performances since arriving from Juventus last summer and TBRFootball claim that the Reds, Arsenal and Chelsea are weighing up moves for the centre-back at the end of the season.
It is believed that the existence of a release clause worth £55m makes Huijsen a particularly attractive target and Liverpool fans on X would back a move for the 19-year-old at that price:
This guy is the one. Long term VVD successor right there.

£55M is a steal – He's a 70M CB at the very least

Ideal if Van Dijk does leave

Sign him, ASAP! 🙏🏻

It he really has a release clause, we have to be on top of this. What a player, the perfect long term solution to replace Virgil. Of course, in 2 years or so, but still.

Huijsen has shone during his debut season in English football
While the teenager was tipped for big things even before his arrival at Bournemouth, the fact that he is already demonstrating his ability to cope with the demands of the Premier League at such a young age is a very good sign.
If Huijsen is already performing like this at 19, it is scary to think what his level will be in five to ten years’ time.
A replacement for Van Dijk will be needed sooner rather than later
Even if Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk does sign a new contract keeping him at Anfield beyond this summer, the Reds will need to find his successor in the near future.
The Dutchman will turn 34 in July and he may only have two or three more years left in him at the highest level.
