Liverpool Target Confirms He Does Have “Clause” In His Contract As He Issues Stance On £50M Summer Transfer

Liverpool transfer target Dean Huijsen has admitted that he does have a buyout fee in his contract with Bournemouth.

The Spanish international only moved to the South Coast last summer from Juventus but the agreement included a clause that allows him to leave the Cherries for £50m. Speaking about his future in a recent interview, the defender said:

“Every player wants to play at the maximum level possible. I have a contract until 2030, I do have a clause.”

Huijsen has been mentioned as a potential target for Real Madrid, in addition to the likes of the Reds, Chelsea and others. When asked about joining the European champions, the centre-back refused to commit to such a move, although he did admit they are a “big team”.

Liverpool are in the market for a centre-half

While it now looks like captain Virgil van Dijk will stay at Anfield, with his contract set to be extended beyond the end of the season, there are doubts about the futures of other players.

Ibrahima Konate has just over a year left on his contract and there is no indication that he is close to putting pen to paper on a new deal.

Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah have also been linked with transfers away from the club. It is likely that Arne Slot’s side will need to sign one centre-back at the very least this summer.

What are the chances of Huijsen moving to Merseyside?

The Reds will have no trouble paying the requisite fee for the 19-year-old but his desire to return to Spain may ultimately prove too strong.

Huijsen has not hidden his interest in going back to the country where he grew up and, with Real reportedly being in the market for centre-backs, you would make them the strong favourites to secure his signature.
