‘Would Be So Underwhelming’ ‘Way Too Injury Prone’ Fans Unimpressed As Liverpool Join Race For £34M Rated Italian

Liverpool will consider signing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa if they sell Mo Salah, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper claims that both the Reds and Manchester United are keeping close tabs on the Italian international, who could be sold for between €30m (£25.5m) and €40m (£34m) this summer.

Fans on X are less than enthusiastic about the prospect of Chiesa making the switch to Anfield, especially due to his poor injury record:

Why is Chiesa available for such a low price?

The 26-year-old is closing in on the final year of his contract and, if he doesn’t sign an extension, Juve are likely to make him available for transfer.

Napoli are known to be one of the clubs in Italy that are interested in purchasing Chiesa but it is expected that the forward will move abroad if he does change clubs before the window closes.

Liverpool may have to fight off several Premier League clubs for the player’s signature

While Gazzetta only mention United as a potential competitor for Chiesa, other reports in Italy have also linked the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle.

For the moment, Reds supporters may want to treat these reports with caution. The Italian is still locked in talks over a new contract and it could well be the case that names of English teams are being used by his agent to get an improved deal for his client.
