‘On His Way Out’ – Report Claims Liverpool Target Could Leave Bundesliga Giants After They Sign Replacement

Liverpool transfer target Ryan Gravenberch is “increasingly likely” to leave Bayern Munich this summer, according to FootballTransfers.com.

The website claims the Dutchman could be “on his way out” of the Bundesliga champions following the arrival of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig.

Bayern officially announced the signing of the Austrian international on Friday morning, with the player making the switch to the Allianz Arena on a free transfer.

Ironically, Laimer was also a target for the Reds but he opted to stay in Germany and make the switch to Bayern.

Gravenberch has a lot of competition for places

The addition of Laimer means that Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel now has five central midfielders in his first-team squad, including Leon Goretzka, Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala.

With Tuchel also keen to recruit Declan Rice from West Ham, there is a danger that Gravenberch will fall further down the pecking order.

After moving from Ajax last summer, the 20-year-old only made three starts in the Bundesliga, and he may have even fewer opportunities next season.

Liverpool will have competition for Gravenberch

While Bayern are still reportedly reluctant to sell the Netherlands international, the player may force their hand by demanding to leave.

Three Premier League clubs are said to have registered their interest in Gravenberch, with the Reds expected to be joined by Manchester United and Arsenal if he is made available for transfer.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are believed to have already put in the groundwork, having discussed a move to Merseyside with his father.

Whether that will ultimately play a part in Liverpool securing Gravenberch’s signature in the coming weeks, though, we shall have to wait and see. The signing of Laimer does undoubtedly increase the chances of the midfielder moving teams so fans should probably keep their eyes peeled for further developments.
