‘Will Be A Good Addition’ ‘A Big No’ Fans React As Liverpool Start Talks To Sign Potential Nunez Replacement

Liverpool have held “initial talks” about signing Joao Pedro from Brighton, according to UOL Esporte.

The Brazilian website claims the Reds have kept tabs on the 23-year-old for the best part of five years but it is only now that they have deemed him ready to make the step up.

Supporters on X are split on whether signing Pedro is a good idea, with some citing his recent injury record and the fact that the club will be negotiating with Brighton:

Pedro does have other suitors

UOL report that Manchester United have also been keeping tabs on the Brazilian, although it is believed that their interest was at the behest of Dan Ashworth and Erik ten Hag who are no longer at the club.

Be that as it may, it appears that Liverpool are still keen on getting negotiations underway as soon as possible to ensure they secure Pedro’s signature.

Where does this leave Liverpool’s current No.9?

Pedro’s potential arrival does raise more questions about the future of Darwin Nunez. The striker has struggled with his form this season, having scored just 3 goals in 19 appearances.

The fact that the Reds seem so keen on bringing Pedro to Anfield does indicate that Nunez’s time on Merseyside may be coming to an end.
