Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United have “set their sights” on buying Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish rumour mongers claim the trio of Premier League clubs are set to “send proposals” for the  79-cap German international over the “coming days.”

Kimmich was first linked with a move to Anfield back in May, when the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal were also mentioned as potential suitors.

At the time, it was claimed that Bayern may consider selling the 28-year-old for around €60m (£51m), but it remains to be seen whether this latest information from Fichajes is accurate or not.

Kimmich has expressed an interest in moving abroad in the past and the fact that he has two years left on his contract means he may be pondering his next move. Whether he is actually serious about leaving the Allianz Arena, though, it is hard to believe.

The German has spent eight years in Bavaria, winning the league title in all eight seasons he has been with the club, and it would be a wrench for him to move away from his current team.

Considering that Kimmich started out as a fullback, before moving into midfielder, he would be a perfect alternative for Trent-Alexander-Anold in the inverted fullback position.

When asked about the player when his Tottenham team faced Bayern in the Champions League, manager Jose Mourinho praised his versatility:

“I see him as a top right-back, left-back, centre-back, No.6, No.8, No.10… he has the qualities to be anything! I think he looks to me, very intelligent related to football, very intelligent, understands the moments of the games and understands the difference between positions and understands what he has to do here and what he has to do there. I think he’s phenomenal, an absolutely phenomenal player.”
