“That’s A Tough One” – Henry Questions Whether Liverpool Still Have A Chance Of Signing La Liga Superstar

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says he can’t see Jude Bellingham making a move to Liverpool in the future.

The Reds were linked with the 20-year-old before his £114m transfer to Real Madrid and he has been ripping things up in La Liga with some superb performances. However, when fellow pundit Jamie Carragher remarked that the midfielder could still sign for his former club, Henry replied:

“He is playing for a team that has won 14 [Champions Leagues], so that’s a tough one, that’s big.”

Henry is right to say that a move to Anfield now looks unlikely. If Bellingham remains in the sort of form he has shown during his first month at Real, the La Liga club are unlikely to sell him anytime soon.

In fact, there is a possibility that the England international could spend the best years of his career at the Bernabeu. The likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, for example, have spent a decade in Spain and Bellingham has the potential to follow in their illustrious footsteps.

Bellingham may want to return to England

While the midfielder could stay at Real for a long time, you do get the feeling that he would want to play in the Premier League at some point.

Bellingham has never played in the English top flight, having made his professional debut for Birmingham City in the Championship before joining Borussia Dortmund.

The prospect of playing in the most popular league in the world may tempt the player into returning to these shores.

Liverpool would have to give him an offer he can’t refuse

The Reds did a lot of legwork to try and persuade Bellingham to move to Merseyside this summer. However, the cost of the deal, as well as other factors, led to him moving to Real instead.

If the club are to revive their interest in the player in the future, they need to be successful on the pitch, winning trophies and playing in the Champions League. Otherwise, you can see them being beaten to his signature again.
