Juventus Reluctant To Sell £55 Million Liverpool Transfer Target Amid Manchester United Interest

Juventus are reluctant to sell Liverpool transfer target defender Gleison Bremer who has a release clause of £55 million.

The defender has been subject to interest from the Reds since the start of the transfer window but any news of a deal has gone quiet over the past week.

The 27-year-old is a top target for Arne Slot this summer and could become his first signing. According to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool and Manchester United both remain keen on signing Bremer.

However, despite the interest, Italian giants Juventus don’t want to sell the defender.

The Old Lady is concerned that Bremer has a £55 million release clause in his contract which clubs could pay before the deadline of August 30th.

Liverpool face competition for Bremer

Liverpool are not the only Premier League side that is interested in Bremer as Manchester United is also reportedly keen.

The Red Devils will be eager to land the defender after recent signing Leny Yoro suffered a long-term injury in a recent friendly against Arsenal.

However, they have already spent almost £60 million on Leny Yoro so it would be an expensive choice to chase after Bremer for £55 million too.

Why is Bremer in demand?

Gleison Bremer is a physical defender who plays best in a back four which suits Arne Slot who played a similar system whilst he was manager at Feyenoord.

The Juventus man has been in Turin for two years after joining from Torino for £40 million in 2022. He has made 83 appearances for the Old Lady and has been touted as the perfect replacement for Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk who could be on his way out this summer.
