£50M Price Tag Set For Centre-Back As Arne Slot Aims To Beat Rivals & Clinch His 1st Liverpool Signing

Liverpool has been told that a £50 million bid will be enough to secure the services of Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer.

According to Football Insider, the 27-year-old is a top target for Arne Slot and Juventus have told him that a £50 million bid will be accepted should the Reds come in with an offer.

Bremer plays primarily as a centre-back and is most comfortable in a back four; the formation that Arne Slot used when he was manager at Feyenoord.

He has been at Juventus since 2022 after a move from Torino and has made 83 appearances for the Italian giants scoring eight goals which is impressive for a defender.

Despite being under contract until June 2028, Juventus are prepared to let him go this summer for a minimum of £50m.

Liverpool targeting centre-backs

Arne Slot is keen on adding a centre-back this summer as his Liverpool side has been linked with several names.

Benfica’s Goncalo Inacio is a target for the Reds this summer with his price being set at just £38m, making him the cheapest of Liverpool’s centre-back targets this summer.

Liverpool are also eyeing up England star Marc Guehi amid competition from Chelsea and Manchester United. However, Football Insider say that the Reds have been put off the 24-year-old due to his £70m price tag set by Crystal Palace.

Future replacement for Virgil Van Dijk

Bremer would be a good addition to the Reds’ back line considering 33-year-old former Celtic and Southampton man Virgil Van Dijk whose contract at Anfield expires in June 2025.

There have been rumors that the Dutch defender could be on his way out this summer to ensure that Liverpool gets money back for his services rather than letting him leave a free agent next year.

It seems no coincidence that Arne Slot is so keen to sign a defender this summer.
