Liverpool Are Talking To Winger’s Agents About £67M Transfer But City, Arsenal And Chelsea Are Also Involved

Liverpool are being kept informed about Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s situation by his representatives, according to reports.

Paris Saint-Germain have begun talks to sign the Georgian international but Napoli are demanding a fee in the region of €80m (£67m).

Rousing the Kop claim that, while PSG are currently frontrunners for the Kvaratskhelia, the Reds (along with Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea) are also involved.

The four Premier League teams are being given updates by the player’s agent about negotiations. If PSG do reach an agreement with Napoli, it will then be up to Liverpool and others to decide whether they want to match the offer.

Kvaratskhelia has been on the club’s radar for several years

The Georgian winger first came to prominence after joining Napoli back in the summer of 2022. His team came up against the Reds in the Champions League shortly after his arrival and he was one of the standout players as the Serie A side won 4-1.

Following the humbling defeat, manager Jurgen Klopp praised Kvaratskhelia, complimenting his pace and skill on the ball:

“He has speed, he is cheeky, he goes inside, he can go outside, that makes it always really difficult.”

Liverpool don’t need another left-winger

One of the reasons why it is unlikely that the Reds would be prepared to break the bank for Kvaratskhelia is due to the position he plays.

While he is right-footed, he prefers to play off the left wing and head coach Arne Slot already has several players in his squad who have similar abilities, including Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota.

There have been suggestions that the Reds could use Chiesa as part of a swap deal, with Napoli said to be interested in the Italian international, but that sort of proposal is purely speculative at this stage.
