Manchester United are closing in on a deal to sign Liverpool target Leny Yoro, according to The Athletic reporter David Ornstein.
The 18-year-old has agreed personal terms and will undergo a medical today ahead of his prospective move to Old Trafford.
Arne Slot’s side were interested in buying Yoro but they cooled their interest when it was believed that the defender wanted a transfer to Real Madrid. Now he looks set to join United, fans on X have been asking why Liverpool didn’t go back in for him:

Liverpool could have been scared off by the price
The Reds have been looking to strengthen their centre-back options all summer so their decision to withdraw from the race for Yoro is puzzling.
United will pay Lille a total of €70m (£59m) for the teenager so you can’t rule out money being the factor in them ending their interest. It is a lot to spend on someone who has less than a year left on his contract but many believe he has a big future ahead of him.
Did Quansah change the club’s plans?
Considering that Liverpool already have one promising centre-half in the form of Jarell Quansah, it could be argued that the Reds were simply unwilling to block his development.
The fact that the club ended negotiations with Newcastle after they asked for Quansah in a swap deal for Anthony Gordon does indicate they rate him very highly.
