Liverpool have retained their interest in Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill, according to the Daily Mail reporter Kieran Gill.
Posting on X, the journalist said that, while the Reds “like” the 21-year-old and would be keen on recruiting a defender of his profile who is “versatile”, the chances of signing Colwill are rather slim:
Liverpool like Levi Colwill – Arne Slot is chasing a versatile left-footed defender – but Chelsea want 21-year-old academy graduate to stay this summer. Contracted until 2029 with option of a further year

As Gill mentions, Colwill committed his future to Chelsea last year, signing a six-year deal so, unless the player is having misgivings about staying at his current club, there is no chance that Liverpool will be able to sign him.
The club are looking for a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk
The Reds captain turns 33 in July and, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season, there is a decision to be made on his future.
Whatever happens, though, the Merseyside club need to have a succession plan in place, and Colwill is seen as an ideal successor. If he isn’t available, though, the recruitment team may have to consider alternatives.
Which centre-backs have been linked with Liverpool?
The Reds are known to be keeping close tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho, but the Ecuadorian international could cost €60m (£51m). Lille’s Leny Yoro has been scouted too and the teenager is said to be valued at a similar price.
Other names that have been considered include the likes of Benfica’s Antonio Silva and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, although they could fetch even more than Pacho and Yoro. Liverpool’s search for a new centre-half could be long and drawn out.
