Liverpool are interested in signing Palmeiras attacking midfielder Luis Guilherme, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Brazilian youth international now has a €55m (£48m) release clause and the Reds (along with Chelsea and Bayern Munich) are keeping tabs on his situation.
Fans on X have been debating whether Jurgen Klopp’s side should be targeting Guilherme. He is left-footed and, while he does prefer to play in more central positions, he can play out wide, prompting some to suggest that he could be a long-term replacement for Mo Salah:

Going after Guilherme would be a risk
As some supporters have mentioned, the 17-year-old has not scored a goal in senior football yet and Palmeiras are asking for an eye-watering amount to sell him.
On top of that, Guilherme has only made 4 first-team starts and the Reds would be taking a massive gamble on an unproven talent if they do match the player’s asking price in January or next summer.
Liverpool are moving their sights towards South America for new signings
It does appear as if the Reds are now more willing to sign players from Brazil and Argentina than they used to be. In recent weeks, the Merseyside club have also been linked with Fluminense’s Andre and Boca Juniors’ Ezequiel Fernandez.
In the past, they would have waited until they came to Europe to see how they perform in higher-profile leagues. However, it now looks like they are looking to take more risks on South American talent.
