Romano Confirms Liverpool And Chelsea Are “Following” Brazilian Wonderkid Who Now Has £47.8M Release Clause

Liverpool and Chelsea are both “following” Palmeiras attacking midfielder Luis Guilherme, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 17-year-old has recently signed a contract that has a €55m (£47.8m) release clause, and Romano says that plenty of top clubs, including the Reds, are keeping an eye on his situation:

Guilherme was originally linked with Liverpool all the way back in April last year, but it appears they have continued to keep tabs on the player’s development.

Is Guilherme worth £47.8m?

The Brazilian youth international has yet to score or provide an assist in senior football, despite making 26 appearances for Palmeiras.

It should be pointed out, though, that Guilherme has only started 4 games in total so it is hard to gauge his potential simply by looking at his performances for the first team.

The teenager has looked impressive when playing for Brazil at Under 17 level, but he won’t be at the World Cup which kicks off later this month.

Liverpool are targeting more than one Brazilian player

Jurgen Klopp’s side are known to have concrete interest in Fluminense’s Andre. The president of the midfielder’s club has confirmed that enquiries were made for the 22-year-old back in the summer.

Recent reports have suggested that the Reds are likely to revive their move for the player when the January transfer window opens. Fans will be intrigued to see how Andre performs when Fluminense take on Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final, which takes place on Saturday evening.
