‘Please Make It Happen’ ‘We Better Get It Done’ Fans React As Liverpool Revive Deal For “Exceptional” PL Star

Liverpool are expected to make another attempt to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi this week, according to reports.

The Daily Mail journalist Lewis Steele claims that the England international remains a top target for the Reds ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday.

Up until now, Arne Slot’s side have been reluctant to match Palace’s Β£40m+ asking price but fans on X have called on the club to get the deal over the line before the window closes:

Guehi has been described as an “exceptional” defender

Speaking during the European Championships last year, England boss Gareth Southgate praised the centre-back, stating that his performances for the Three Lions had been “exceptional”.

Unsurprisingly, Guehi has attracted interest from several clubs, including Newcastle, Tottenham, Manchester City and his former team Chelsea. However, he appears to have his heart set on a move to Anfield.

Liverpool are looking to reinforce the backline

Ibrahima Konate’s shaky start to the campaign has emphasised the need for more competition in the centre of defence. Giovanni Leoni has been recruited from Parma but he is very much one for the future.

Guehi would be able to compete with Konate straight away, and he could ultimately end up as the Frenchman’s replacement if the Reds’ centre-half opts to run down his contract and leave next summer.
