Journalist Fabrizio Romano says he wouldn’t rule out Liverpool making another approach for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi “in the future”.
The Spanish international rejected a move to Anfield during the summer transfer window but, speaking to Anything Liverpool FC, Romano suggested that the transfer could be revived:
“I would not be surprised if Liverpool try again in the future for Zubimendi”
The majority of supporters on X don’t think the Reds should consider going back in for the player:

What has Zubimendi said about his future?
Speaking earlier his month, the 25-year-old said that he has not genuinely considered leaving his current club, having come through their academy:
“Real Sociedad for me is my life, I think I have spent half my life there. A lot of what I am is part of La Real, it is my life… My friends are clear that whatever I decide will be the best.”
Based on those comments, it seems very unlikely that Liverpool (or other interested clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United) will be able to change his mind if they choose to make an approach in January or next summer.
Liverpool have been doing fine without a ‘specialist’ No.6
While things could change over the coming weeks and months, Arne Slot’s side haven’t really missed the presence of someone like Zubimendi in the middle of the park.
Ryan Gravenberch has been given the responsibility to hold the fort and he has been outstanding in the first few games.
