Liverpool are weighing up a move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, according to The Athletic.
The Spanish international has been one of the standout players of the European Championships so far and clubs, including the Reds, Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona, are tempted to trigger his reported €55m (£47m) release clause.
While not every fan on X is convinced that the Merseyside club will make a move for Williams, most agree that he would be an excellent addition to the squad:

A lot hinges on Luis Diaz’s future
While Williams can play on the right wing, his preferred position is on the left flank so he can cut in and shoot on his stronger foot.
It is not an area of the pitch that Liverpool really need to strengthen, with Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz all capable of playing there.
However, there have been some rumours that the Reds would be prepared to let Diaz go, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain said to be his main suitors. If the Colombian international is sold, it could open the door for Williams.
Liverpool would have to find an agreement on a salary
It is important to point out that Williams signed a new contract back in December, and he is now earning €200,000 (£169,000) a week.
The Reds are unlikely to want to pay him too much more than he is currently on at Bilbao so, before going ahead with a bid, talks with the player’s agent over personal terms would need to be held.
