Club Director Speaks Out On Future Of £50M Rated Liverpool Target Who ‘Dreams’ Of Move To Anfield

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung has said that Liverpool have not been in contact with the Bundesliga side about Omar Marmoush.

The Reds are known to be keeping tabs on the Egyptian international but, when asked whether Frankfurt had received an enquiry from the Merseysiders, Hardung replied:

“No, we have not had any contact with Liverpool regarding Marmoush, no negotiations or contacts. I know the people there but there is nothing, there are no contacts with any club regarding the player.”

Pressed on whether Marmoush could be sold during the January transfer window, Hardung said that Frankfurt are keen to keep hold of their top scorer:

“We do not want to dispense with him, we do not want to sell him, certainly in January. In the transfer market, there is no room for assumptions, but there is no reason to sell him in the winter.”

An approach from Liverpool may only happen in the summer

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg revealed last month that Marmoush’s agents had been contacted by the Reds. The journalist went as far as to say that the player “dreams” of a move to the Premier League, and he would “immediately agree to join Liverpool” if a bid was tabled.

However, it appears any transfer is likelier to happen at the end of the season. Arne Slot’s side may wait to see how talks go with Mo Salah over a new contract before deciding to make an offer.

Marmoush does have other suitors

The 25-year-old has had an excellent start to the season, having scored 14 goals and provided 10 assists in his first 17 games. That form has also reportedly attracted the interest of other clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle.

Mamroush is unlikely to be available on the cheap either, with it being claimed that Frankfurt will demand a fee between €50m (£42m) and €60m (£50m).
