‘I Would Absolutely Love This’ ‘Get It Done’ Fans React As Liverpool Press Ahead With £25M January Move

Liverpool are pushing ahead with their plans to sign Lyon attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki during the January transfer window, according to reports.

French website Footmercato claims that the Reds and Paris Saint-Germain are both keen on getting a deal over the line next month.

Cherki is reportedly valued at around €30m (£25m) and the majority of fans on X believe he would be a very good signing:

Cherki has been in good form this season

The 21-year-old got an assist during Lyon’s 3-1 defeat to PSG on Wednesday night, taking his total number of goal involvements for the campaign to 12 (5 goals and 7 assists).

Considering Cherki only managed 12 in the whole of the 2023/24 season, it does demonstrate that he is making good progress in his development.

Liverpool could still face competition from other Premier League clubs

It should be pointed out that Newcastle, West Ham and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in Cherki over the last year or so.

However, Footmercato believe that the Reds (and PSG) are keen to make their move for the player in January so they don’t have to compete with more clubs at the end of the season. If he continues his current form, Cherki could be in high demand come next summer.
