Liverpool transfer target Rodrygo is expected to remain at Real Madrid this summer, according to Cadena SER.

The Spanish radio station reports that the Brazilian international “sees himself” staying at the Bernabeu despite the impending arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

Rodrygo’s game time could be restricted if, as expected, the French World Cup winner completes his free transfer to Real at the end of the season.

However, despite concerns about a lack of minutes, Cadena SER claim that the player has made it clear in no uncertain terms that he is “100%” committed to his current team.

Cadena SER also report that Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal are “monitoring” the 23-year-old’s situation, just in case he has a change of heart.

Rodrygo is in good form, having scored a brace for Real against Athletic Bilbao at the weekend, so English clubs will be keen to pounce if the winger does become available on the transfer market.

Liverpool could be seeking a replacement for Salah

Due to his age and profile, it would not be a surprise if the Reds were seriously contemplating a move for Rodrygo. He predominantly plays on the right wing or up front for Real, and it suggests that he may be targeted if Mo Salah leaves Anfield this summer.

The Egyptian international will have a year left on his contract when the campaign is over, and he has been heavily linked with clubs in Saudi Arabia. Al-Ittihad had a £100m+ bid turned down for the player back in September but it is expected that there will be further interest when the transfer window reopens.

If Salah doesn’t sign an extension, Liverpool will be tempted to sell and, if that happens, a move for a replacement like Rodrygo would become a likelier possibility.
