“If It’s Not This Week, It Will Be Next Week…” Journalist Believes Liverpool WILL Make Bid For 19 Year Old

Liverpool are poised to step up their interest in Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Speaking to Redmen TV, the Belgian reporter claimed that an offer for the 19-year-old is expected to be submitted within the next fortnight:

“Liverpool can be really quick because they don’t have a lot of things to do. They said they will make an offer, everyone is confident that it will be the case, if it’s not this week, it will be next week. The relationship between Liverpool and Southampton will make things more smooth. If we are talking about business and money, Arsenal is close. The fact is Liverpool is still in the race. [Liverpool] are not in an advantageous position… but Klopp is the key.”

As Tavolieri says, the Reds will have to see off fierce competition from Arsenal if they want to secure Lavia’s signature. The Gunners are, however, putting the final touches on a deal for West Ham’s Declan Rice, while it is believed they may only make an offer for the Southampton player if they sell Thomas Partey.

For that reason, Jurgen Klopp’s side should be confident of getting a deal done. Chelsea and Manchester United have also been mentioned as potential suitors for the Belgian international but neither are in a position to make a formal bid for the ex-Manchester City player at this stage.

Liverpool could pursue Lavia IN ADDITION to Szoboszlai

Reports emerged on Wednesday afternoon that the Reds are holding talks about signing Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig. There are no guarantees that the Merseyside club will bid for both players but, as they play in very different positions, there is a possibility that will happen. Lavia is very much a no.6, while Szoboszlai is a no.8/10.

It still seems unlikely that a double deal is in the offing, considering they could cost a combined £110m, but we shall have to wait and see.
