Reliable Journalist Confirms Liverpool Are Looking To Revive Move For 11 Cap Midfielder

Liverpool are expected to reignite their interest in Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, according to the Daily Mail reporter Dominic King.

The journalist is usually very reliable when it comes to the Reds and he says that, after having been told that the Dutchman is not for sale earlier in the summer, it appears they are now more confident a deal can be done:

“Ryan Gravenberch at Bayern Munich who they’ve had a longstanding interest in. They were of the belief that Bayern Munich wouldn’t want to let him go, they think an awful lot of him.”

“But I think the fact that they’re still looking at him Liverpool suggests that he’s somebody that they could [move for]. I’m not going to say anything’s going to happen because at this stage of the transfer window, it would be ridiculous to say, all I would make clear is that he’s a target they’re looking at.”

Gravenberch has been on the club’s radar for a while

The Dutchman, who has been capped 11 times by his country, was first linked with a move to Anfield two and a half years ago, so he has certainly a player that the Reds have been eyeing for quite some time.

Rumours did, however, begin to intensify back in April when it was claimed that the Merseyside club had spoken to Gravenberch’s father about the midfielder moving to Anfield. At the time, both Arsenal and Manchester United were also mentioned as potential suitors.

Liverpool are considering a number of different midfield options

Jurgen Klopp’s side have also been looking at alternatives if Bayern do hold firm on their stance to keep Gravenberch.

The Reds’ interest in Southampton’s Romeo Lavia is well documented, but they are also said to be looking at potential bids for the likes of Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, Benfica’s Florentino Luis and even Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips.
