Liverpool will offer “fierce competition” for Juventus in the race to sign Boca Juniors left-back Valentin Barco, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Italian website claims that the two clubs could fight it out for the teenager, who helped Boca reach the Copa Libertadores final earlier this month.
Fans on X would back a move for Barco, who could be a potential long-term replacement for Andy Robertson:

Barco could be available for a bargain price
Reports in South America have suggested that the 19-year-old has a release clause in his contract that is just β¬10m (Β£8.75m).
With that being the case, it is not a surprise that Liverpool are seriously considering an approach for Barco, who has the potential to be worth a lot more in the future. Boca have attempted to tie down the player to a new contract, which would also increase the buyout fee, but they haven’t had much success so far.
Liverpool will face competition for the Argentine’s signature
Although Calciomercato.com only mention Juve as a potential rival for the Reds, other sources have also linked Manchester City, Chelsea and Brighton.
In fact, there were some claims that City had already won the battle for Barco, although those reports appear to have jumped the gun.
