Liverpool are one of the Premier League clubs interested in signing Flamengo fullback Wesley, according to reports in Brazil.
The Reds are looking at ways to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold and journalist Bruno Lemos says Wesley’s representatives have travelled to England, where they will hold talks with the Merseysiders and Manchester United.
It is believed that Flamengo will hold out for a fee between €30m (£25.6m) and €35m (£30m), but fans on X are not sure whether Wesley will be a good addition to the squad:
Don’t know much about him personally, would he be good enough for first choice ? Or would that be over to Bradley and then Wesley as back up ?

Enough with these South Americans who will one day leave for Barcelona or Madrid. This league is about physicality not flair

What do Liverpool supporters need to know about Wesley?
The Brazilian is 21 years of age, having made his senior debut for Flamengo in December 2021. He has gone on to make 124 appearances for the first team.
Wesley is an attack-minded player, having been deployed as a wingback on occasion. He was given his first senior international cap last month, coming on for the last 10 minutes of the 2-1 win over Colombia.
His first start for Brazil came five days later but it isn’t a game he will remember fondly as his country were beaten 4-1 by Argentina.
What is the current situation with Alexander-Arnold?
Liverpool’s vice-captain is set to leave Anfield when his contract expires at the end of June. It looks like he will join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The Reds are now pretty much resigned to losing the player, and the interest in Wesley demonstrates they are already planning for life without their No.66.
