Liverpool are weighing up a potential move for Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Willian Pacho, according to reports in Italy.
Europa Calcio claim the Ecuadorian international is top of the list of candidates that the Reds are considering as they look to strengthen their options in the centre of defence.
Pacho was a key member of PSG’s backline when they won the Champions League last season but fans on X are split on whether he would be a realistic target:
I would absolutely love this, Pacho was quality for PSG last season and is exactly the kind of defender we need.

Wasn’t he on top of our list a couple of years back too. 40 mils is what Frankfurt got for him and we just watched hahhahah.

No one can take Pacho away from PSG. Of course, it would be perfect if this happened.

The ship may have sailed on Pacho transfer
While the centre-back is definitely the right age (23) and he possesses many of the right attributes needed to play in the Premier League, you can’t see PSG selling him.
Pacho signed a five-year contract with the European champions when he joined from Eintracht Frankfurt at the start of last season.
Are Liverpool interested in any other defenders?
The Reds do retain an interest in Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi but a bid for the England international is unlikely to be lodged in January. He may, though, end up joining on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.
A similar agreement could be secured for Dayot Upamecano. His current deal with Bayern Munich ends in June and there is no indication that he will put pen to paper on an extension at this stage.
