Agent Admits £45M Rated Winger Is “Ambitious” As He Speaks Out On Liverpool Transfer Links

Yankuba Minteh’s representative, Bakary Bojang, has directly addressed rumours linking the Brighton winger with a move to Liverpool.

365Scores claim that the Gambian international is on a three-man shortlist that the Reds have drawn up, and asked to comment, Bojang replied:

“Yankuba is happy at Brighton at the moment. He’s playing regularly and developing well, so he’s in the right place right now.”

“I can’t comment on any rumours at this point, out of respect for both the player and the clubs involved.”

“However, as you know, every ambitious player dreams of competing at the highest level and playing for the biggest clubs in the world.”

Minteh would be a seen as a replacement for Salah

The 21-year-old is a left-footed right winger, so there would be no doubts about who he would be replacing if Liverpool did make a concerted effort to sign him next year.

Mohamed Salah’s form this season has been called into question, and if he does end up leaving Anfield before his contract expires in 2027, Minteh could well be lined up to succeed him.

It is suggested that Brighton would demand between £35m and £45m for the winger, which seems on the low side, considering the Seagulls’ skill for securing high transfer fees.

Who are the other candidates on Liverpool’s list?

365Scores name Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon as potential alternatives. Both forwards have been linked with a move to Anfield in recent months, so there is likely to be some truth to the claims made, but they generally play on the opposite wing to Minteh and Salah.

If they are targeted in January or at the end of the season, the pair would be considered competition for the likes of Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha.
