Liverpool Urged To Make Surprise Move For 35M Rated Chelsea Midfielder

Liverpool should be looking at Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as a possible transfer target to strengthen the club’s options in the middle of the park, according to Jose Enrique.

The former Reds defender believes the England international could fit Jurgen Klopp’s style of play, whilst also being a good replacement for Naby Keita:

“He is actually a player I love. Look at the numbers that he did at Crystal Palace last season. Compare them now with Keita during the last four seasons. I love Keita and I think he is a very, very good player. It comes back to the problem during the past four seasons and his availability to play and he doesn’t. We need squad players that can really be available all the time or most of the time. In Gallagher, I believe he is one them. He suits our style of play. He can score goals and is someone who would be very, very good for us. And someone I really like.”

A number of teams, including Crystal Palace, West Ham and Newcastle, have been credited with an interest in Gallagher, and there have been reports that Chelsea could let the 22-year-old leave for £35m before the transfer deadline.

However, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is said to be a big fan o the player, and he is unlikely to sanction a sale this late in the window when there would be no way to replace him.

In terms of Liverpool’s actual targets, it is believed that the club are considering moves for RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer, Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Kouadio Kone ahead of deadline day.
