Liverpool v Arsenal – Match Preview And Predicted XI Plus Betting Odds

Liverpool will be fresh heading into the crunch Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday after not being in Carabao Cup action midweek.

In contrast, the Gunners laboured to a 2-1 win over League One club Blackpool after having Matteo Guendouzi sent off.

The Reds still have a couple of injury doubts for the game at the Emirates this weekend. Both Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson have sat out the last couple of matches with hamstring injuries, and are likely to have fitness tests before Saturday.

There was also another injury scare when Mo Salah was pictured with a cast on his right hand, but it is believed that it is only a minor issue and won’t keep him out of the game against Arsenal.

For the Gunners, the injury situation is pretty serious. They currently only have one fit fullback in Stephan Lichsteiner. Hector Bellerin was substituted at half-time against Crystal Palace with a thigh injury and sat out the game against Blackpool yesterday.

Left backs Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac both have hamstring injuries, meaning midfielder Granit Xhaka has had to fill in on the left-hand side of defence.

However, with Guendouzi now suspended, the Swiss international could move back into central midfield with Ainsley Maitland-Niles deputising at full-back. Centre-backs Laurent Koscielny (Achilles) and Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin) are out until November.

According to the bookies Liverpool are definitely favourites despite them being away from home with 188Bet having the Reds at 39/40 for the win and all the bookies favouring Jurgen Klopp’s side. At the time of writing Coral have the best odds on an Arsenal win, offering them at 12/5 while the best odds on a draw are 143/50. So it seems that even though Arsenal are on an unbeaten run of 13 games the confidence just is not there for Unai Emery’s side when they face top drawer opposition.
