Liverpool V Arsenal – Match Preview And Predicted XI Plus Betting Odds

Liverpool will be riding high heading into a huge game against Arsenal tomorrow evening.

The Reds’ 4-0 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day means they are six points ahead of second place Tottenham and seven ahead of Manchester City.

Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Brighton on Wednesday means Unai Emery’s side go into the match 13 points off the pace despite having gone unbeaten between their defeat to Chelsea in August and their loss to Southampton earlier this month.

Liverpool could welcome back James Milner. The vice-captain sat out the victory against the Magpies with a tight hamstring but could be ready to face the Gunners. Alberto Moreno is also struggling with a back injury.

Joe Gomez (fractured leg), Joel Matip (broken collarbone) and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain (knee) all remain sidelined.

Arsenal’s injury list isn’t getting any shorter. There are currently seven first-team players out of action, with just two likely to be back tomorrow.

Shkodran Mustafi has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury but was expected to be back in training this week. Nacho Monreal suffered a recurrence of his own hamstring problem against Burnley and did not feature against Brighton, but he may be ready to return to the squad.

However, Hector Bellerin (calf), Rob Holding (knee), Danny Welbeck (ankle), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (ankle) and Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin) are all out.

The bookmakers make Liverpool favourites to get the three points with most having them odds-on at 1/2. A draw is 4/1 at Unibet while the best price for a Gunners win is 6/1 with Betfair.

Liverpool’s Starting XI To Face Arsenal:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Keita, Salah, Firmino, Mane

Arsenal’s Starting XI:
