Liverpool V Aston Villa: Match Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was clearly unhappy with the manner of the 4-0 defeat to Manchester City on Thursday and he will certainly be expecting a better performance from his players against Aston Villa tomorrow.

Their opponents have been struggling since the restart, with Dean Smith’s side having picked up just two points in four matches played. They do have something to play for, though, in the midst of the relegation battle, while the Reds do not.

In terms of team news, Liverpool have Dejan Lovren sidelined with a knock, while Joel Matip is out for the season with a toe injury. Xherdan Shaqiri is short of match fitness and is not expected to feature.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Aston Villa:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Keita, Salah, Minamino, Mane

Villa will have Matt Targett missing due to a thigh problem, while Frederic Guilbert and Henri Lansbury will face late fitness tests. Tom Heaton (knee), Bjorn Engels (Achilles) and Wesley (knee) are all unavailable.

Aston Villa’s Predicted XI:

Nyland, Konsa, Hause, Mings, Taylor, Hourihane, Douglas Luiz, McGinn, El Ghazi, Samatta, Grealish

The bookmakers have Liverpool as heavy favourites with Betfred pricing them at 1/3. A draw is 5/1 with Paddy Power while a Villa victory is 19/2 at BetVictor.

Predicted Score – 3-1 to Liverpool
