Liverpool V Brighton: Team News And Betting Odds

The game against Napoli on Wednesday night couldn’t have gone much worse for Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp. Not only did they fail to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League, but they lost Fabinho to what looked like a serious ankle injury.

After the 1-1 draw midweek, the Reds will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they face Brighton this weekend. Seagulls boss Graham Potter has just been handed a contract extension despite only being appointed in the summer. The former Swansea manager has done a decent job guiding the South coast club to 12th in the table.

Liverpool currently have four players on the sidelines. As well as Fabinho, Naby Keita is a doubt for Saturday after missing the Napoli game due to illness. Joel Matip and Nathaniel Clyne (both knee) are out of contention.

Brighton could have Aaron Connolly back available after the Irishman missed the defeat to Leicester with a groin problem. Bernardo (knee) remains a doubt while Jose Izquierdo (knee) is still unavailable.

The bookmakers have made the Reds heavy favourites with Ladbrokes pricing them at 2/9 to win. A draw is currently 6/1 with 888 Sport while a victory for the Seagulls is 18/1 at Unibet.

Predicted Score – 3-1 to Liverpool
