Liverpool V Burnley – Match Preview And Predicted XI Plus Betting Odds

Liverpool will want to get back to winning ways against Burnley on Sunday. The draw in the Merseyside derby last weekend has led many to question Jurgen Klopp side’s title credentials after slipping a point behind Manchester City.

Burnley head into the match at Anfield off the back of two defeats against Newcastle and Crystal Palace following a surprise home win that ended Tottenham’s title challenge.

The Reds could still be without Dejan Lovren who is struggling to recover from a hamstring issue. The Croatian has been out for two months and was not in training yesterday placing doubt on his fitness ahead of the weekend.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will play for the Under 23s against Derby tomorrow. Klopp wants the 25-year-old to play a couple of matches before being reintegrated into the first team.

Rhian Brewster is also in training but he is unlikely to feature this campaign with the club targeting preseason for his return.

Joe Gomez is still in rehab following surgery on a fractured leg. If everything goes to plan this time, he should be fit for the Spurs game on March 31st.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche is likely to be without Steven Defour (calf strain) and Aaron Lennon (knee) for the match on Sunday.

Liverpool are heavy favourites to get the win this weekend. They are 2/11 at Sky Bet with a draw 7/1 at 888 Sport. A victory for the away side is 20/1 at Ladbrokes.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Burnley:

Burnley’s Predicted XI:
