Liverpool V Cardiff City – Team News And Predicted XI

Liverpool’s attack finally started to fire against Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday evening, and they will be looking to follow up that good display with another against Cardiff City tomorrow.

The Bluebirds are coming into the game off the back of their first league win of the season. The 4-2 victory over Fulham will no doubt boost their confidence heading into the encounter at Anfield.

However, Neil Warnock’s side have the second-worst defensive record in the league, having conceded 19 in just nine matches. They will be up against it on Saturday but they will look to frustrate the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp will be without captain Jordan Henderson for the game. The midfielder suffered a hamstring injury against Huddersfield last weekend and is not fit to play.

Naby Keita is also still out after sustaining his own hamstring problem whilst away on international duty with Guinea. However, James Milner could be recalled after being rested midweek. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) is the only long-term injury absentee.

For Cardiff, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (knee), Lee Peltier (shoulder) and Danny Ward are all out injured, while Joe Ralls is suspended. Gary Madine will likely return after sitting out the Fulham win with a virus.

Predicted Liverpool XI to face Cardiff City

Alisson

Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson

Milner, Fabinho, Shaqiri

Salah, Firmino, Mane

Predicted Score – 3-0 to Liverpool
