Liverpool will head into Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace without Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 20-year-old is expected to be sidelined for a month due to minor ligament damage he sustained during the warm-up at Brighton last weekend.

The fullback still went out to play the full 90 minutes against the Seagulls, but after having a scan, it was confirmed that he could be out for up to four weeks.

Alexander-Arnold joins defenders Dejan Lovren (hamstring) and Joe Gomez (fractured leg) on the treatment table. With Nathaniel Clyne on loan at Bournemouth, it means either James Milner or Fabinho will have to fill in at right-back against Palace.

Georginio Wijnaldum (knee) Adam Lallana (muscle) are also both doubts for the match this weekend. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain (knee) remains out of contention.

The Eagles have a goalkeeper crisis at the moment. Julian Speroni is likely to start for Roy Hodgson’s side at Anfield with Wayne Hennessey (thigh) and Vicente Guaita (calf) both out after suffering injuries in the 2-1 defeat to Watford.

Fullback Papa Souare is also sidelined after sustaining a dislocated shoulder in the FA Cup win over Grimsby earlier this month.

The bookmakers have Liverpool as firm favourites with the Reds 1/5 with Unibet. A draw is 13/2 at Bet365 while a Palace victory is 17/1 at BetVictor.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Crystal Palace:

Alisson, Milner, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Shaqiri, Firmino, Mane, Salah

Crystal Palace’s Predicted XI:

Speroni, Wan-Bissaka, Tomkins, Sakho, van Aanholt, Meyer, Kouyate, Milivojevic, Schlupp, Zaha, Townsend

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Liverpool
