Liverpool V Newcastle: Match Preview And Betting Odds

Anfield Stadium

Liverpool will be confident of getting the three points against Newcastle this weekend. The Reds are currently on a thirteen match winning streak in the Premier League which is unmatched in the club’s history.

They face a Magpies side coming off the back of an unconvincing 1-1 draw against Watford at home last time out, but Liverpool will need to be wary after Tottenham’s home loss to Steve Bruce’s side last month.

The Merseysiders will be without Alisson Becker (calf) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee) for the game while doubts remain over Naby Keita’s fitness.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have seven players all ruled out for the game. Matt Ritchie (ankle), Allan Saint-Maximin (hamstring), Andy Carroll (fitness), Jack Colback (groin), Florian Lejeune (knee), Dwight Gayle (calf) are unavailable.

DeAndre Yedlin is back training following a groin injury but the match at Anfield on Saturday may come too early for him.

The bookies have Liverpool as firm favourites for this one, with the Reds 2/13 at Ladbrokes. A draw is 8/1 with Betfair while a Newcastle victory is 22/1 at Coral.
