Liverpool V Paris Saint-Germain – Match Preview and Predicted XI

Both teams are heading into the match at Anfield tonight on the back of 100% starts to their league seasons. Liverpool won their fifth game in a row against Tottenham on Saturday while PSG thrashed Saint-Etienne 4-0 on Friday evening.

It could be a battle of which attack is the most clinical on the night, with both sides containing some of the most lethal attackers in Europe. However, the Reds could be without one of their key forwards in Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian is touch and go for the game after picking up an eye injury against Spurs, and Jurgen Klopp is leaving the decision until the last minute to decide whether he plays.

If he doesn’t make it, Daniel Sturridge is highly likely to start with both Divock Origi and Dominic Solanke having picked up knocks in a recent Under 23s match. The Merseyside club will also be without Dejan Lovren (pelvis) and Adam Lallana (groin).

PSG will welcome back both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe who didn’t feature against Saint-Etienne. The Brazilian was rested while the French World Cup winner was suspended. For the trip to Anfield, they will be without key duo Gianluigi Buffon an Marco Verratti, who both have suspensions carried over from last season’s competition.

Here’s how we think Liverpool will line up against PSG:

Alisson

Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson

Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum

Salah, Sturridge, Mane

Predicted Score – Liverpool 2-1
