Liverpool V Southampton: Match Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

After yet another win against West Ham on Wednesday night, Liverpool head into the game against Southampton at the weekend in very confident mood.

The Saints have, however, been more than decent on the road this season, having only failed to score in one match away from home, so the Reds will need to be up for the test on Saturday.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has six fitness concerns going into the game at Anfield. Divock Origi came off with cramp midweek and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to start this weekend.

Adam Lallana has a viral infection and is unlikely to feature, while James Milner (thigh) and Xherdan Shaqiri (calf) are also major doubts. Sadio Mane (thigh) and Nathaniel Clyne (knee) are both out of contention.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Southampton:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Keita, Salah, Firmino, Minamino

Southampton could have Yan Valery back available, but they are without Jannik Vestergaard (concussion) and Stuart Armstrong (hip). Shane Long is also a doubt with a knee injury.

Southampton’s Predicted XI:

McCarthy, Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand, Boufal, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Redmond, Ings, Obafemi

The bookies have made Liverpool heavy favourites with Unibet pricing them at 3/10 odds-on. A draw is 5/1 with Betway while a Saints victory is 10/1 at Ladbrokes.

Predicted Score – 3-1 to Liverpool
