Liverpool v Tottenham – Match Preview and Predicted XI

Liverpool will head into the match against Tottenham on Saturday high on confidence after starting the season with four wins from four.

However, the international break means Jurgen Klopp will only have two training sessions to prepare his side before heading down to London for a lunchtime kickoff at the weekend.

One piece of good news is that Brazilian trio Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho were rested by national team head coach Tite for the midweek friendly against El Salvador.

On the injury front, the Reds are without Adam Lallana who sustained a groin strain whilst away with England, and Simon Mignolet returned early from international duty after picking up a hand injury. The Belgian is, however, expected to be fit for the bench against Tottenham.

Dejan Lovren is still out of action and will likely not be fully fit for at least another month, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) is the only other long-term absentee.

For Spurs, captain Hugo Lloris has been ruled out with a thigh injury so understudy Michel Vorm will keep his place in goal against Liverpool. Similarly, Dele Alli will also not face the Reds. The England international picked up a hamstring injury against Spain and pulled out of the friendly against Switzerland on Tuesday.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino can, however, expect to have Erik Lamela back, although Moussa Sissoko’s recovery from a hamstring problem will take a bit longer.

Here’s how we think Liverpool will line up against Tottenham:

Alisson

Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson

Milner, Henderson, Keita

Salah, Firmino, Mane

Predicted Score: 1-1
