Liverpool V Tottenham – Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Liverpool will know that three points against Tottenham are vital to keep their Premier League title challenge on track, but Spurs are unlikely to make things easy for them.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have not won in the Premier League since the 10th February, with defeats to Burnley, Chelsea and Southampton as well as a draw against North London rivals Arsenal.

Still, they defeated Borussia Dortmund both home and away in the Champions League during the same period and it will be a major test for the Reds.

Manager Jurgen Klopp only has two injury doubts heading into the game. Trent Alexander-Arnold is struggling with a back injury while Xherdan Shaqiri has a groin problem.

Naby Keita (knock) is back in full training, along with Joe Gomez (fractured leg) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (hamstring).  Captain Jordan Henderson injured his ankle playing for England but was still able to come on as a substitute against Montenegro on Monday so should be in contention for the weekend.

Jordan Henderson and Virgil Van Dijk address the press

Tottenham have three players carrying injuries. Eric Dier injured his thigh in England’s 5-0 win against the Czech Republic and is a major doubt for Sunday. As is Serge Aurier who suffered a hamstring injury playing for Ivory Coast against Rwanda last Saturday.

Harry Winks will be touch and go for the weekend. The midfielder has not played since the 1-0 second leg win against Dortmund due to a hip problem.

Bookies make Liverpool the favourites for this encounter. The Reds are 8/13 at Unibet with a draw 13/4 at the same bookmaker. Tottenham are 5/1 to win at Bet365.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI To Face Tottenham:

Tottenham’s Predicted XI:

Lloris, Trippier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Wanyama, Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele Alli, Kane

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Liverpool
