Counterattacks provide goals
Liverpool’s first goal came from a swift counter-attack after a Brentford corner at the other end of the pitch. The Reds won the ball and quickly broke down the field thanks to a run from Diogo Jota.
He then played the ball through to Diaz who finished the chance nicely. It was exactly the sort of goal that Arne Slot likes to see and could become a staple of Liverpool’s play this year.
With the pace they have up front, the counter-attack could become a key in the Reds’ goalscoring resume.
